A conflict is born of the opposition of the two instinctive tendencies which govern human action: the individualist and the gregarious.

The Evolution of Future Man என்கிற நூலில் ஸ்ரீ அரவிந்தர், மனிதனுடைய பரிணாம வளர்ச்சி எப்படிப் பட்டதாக இருக்கும் என்பதை விவரித்திருக்கிறார். முதல் மூன்று அத்தியாயங்களின் சாராம்சத்தை, முந்தைய பதிவுகளில் சுருக்கமாகப் பார்த்திருக்கிறோம். அதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக , அந்த நூலின் நான்காவது அத்தியாயத்தின் சுருக்கமாக, பவித்ரா என்று அன்புடன் அழைக்கப் பட்ட பிரெஞ்சு அடியவர் இப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறார்:

“Standards of Conduct and Spiritual Freedom

“Since perfection is progressive, good and evil are shifting quantities and change from time to time their meaning and value. Four main principles successively govern human conduct. The first two are personal need and the good of the collectivity. A conflict is born of the opposition of the two instinctive tendencies which govern human action: the individualist and the gregarious. In order to settle this conflict, a new principle comes in, other and higher than the two conflicting instincts, and aiming both to override and to reconcile them. This third principle is the ethical ideal.

But conflicts do not subside; they seem rather to multiply. Moral laws are arbitrary and rigid; when applied to life, they are obliged to come to terms with it and end in compromises which deprive them of all power.

Behind the ethical law, which is a false image, a greater truth of a vast consciousness without fetters unveils itself, the supreme law of our divine nature. It determines perfectly our relations with each being and with the totality of the universe, and it also reveals the exact rhythm of the direct expression of the Divine in us. It is the fourth and supreme principle of action, which is at the same time imperative law and absolute freedom.”

முழுமை அல்லது பூர்த்தி என்று நாம் கருதுவதில், நல்லது, நல்லது அல்லது என்பன அளவிலும், பண்பிலும் மாறிக் கொண்டே இருக்கும். மனிதனிடத்தில், இரண்டு விதமான முரண்பாடுகள், எப்போதும் மோதிக்கொண்டே இருக்கும். முதலாவது, தனித்துவமானது, தன்முனைப்பாக வெளிப்படும்; இன்னொன்று குழு மனப்பான்மை. இந்த இரண்டு முரண்பாடுகளின் மோதலைத் தீர்ப்பதற்கு, இந்த இரண்டையும் விட உயர்ந்ததான மூன்றாவதுகுறிக்கோள் உருவாகும். இது, முந்தைய இரண்டையும் சமன் பெறச் செய்து அல்லது அவைகளை மீறி ஒரு தீர்வாக அமையும்.

ஆனாலும், முரண்பாடுகளும், மோதல்களும் ஓய்ந்து விடுவதில்லை. மாறாக, மென்மேலும் வளர்ந்து கொண்டிருப்பதாகத் தான் தோற்றும். பழைய சம்ப்ரதாயங்கள், நடைமுறைக்கு உதவாமல் போகும். இவை மேலோட்டமான பொய்த்தோற்றமே!

இதன் பின்னால் எல்லையற்ற மெய்யுணர்வு தடைகளைத் தகர்த்து வெளிப்படும். இந்த எல்லையற்ற மெய்யுணர்வு தான், நம்முடைய உன்னதமான தெய்வீக நிலை. இது தான், நமக்கும் , இந்தப் பிரபஞ்சத்திற்கும் இடையே உள்ள பிரிக்க முடியாத உறவை வெளிப்படுத்தும்.

"அண்டத்தில் உள்ளதே பிண்டத்தில் உள்ளது; பிண்டத்தில் உள்ளதே அண்டத்தில் உள்ளது"

என்பது அனுபவ சாத்தியமாகும். இதுவே தெய்வீகம் நம்க்குள் நேரடியாக வெளிப்படுகிற நிலை.

ஸ்ரீ அரவிந்த அன்னையே! உன் திருவடிகளைச் சரண் அடைகிறேன்!

மாற மறுக்கிற, பழைய பழக்கங்களின் அடிமையாகவே இருக்கத் தூண்டுகிற எல்லாத் தடைகளையும் நீ அறியச் சமர்ப்பிக்கிறேன். தடைகளை வென்று, திருவுரு மாற்றம் இவனுக்குள் நிகழட்டும். இவனது வாழ்வும், வளமும் உன்னுடைய அருட்கொடையாக என்றைக்கும் தழைத்தோங்கட்டும்.

ஓம் ஆனந்தமயி, சைதன்யமயி, சத்யமயி, பரமே!
