மின்செய்தி என்ற தலைப்பில் தினசரி செய்திகளைத் தொகுத்து மின்தமிழ் கூகிள் குழுமத்தில் வழங்கி வரும் நண்பர் புதுவை சுகுமாரன் இன்று அறுபது வயதைத் தொடுகிறார். கொஞ்ச நாட்களுக்கு முன்பு, அந்தக் குழுமத்தில் உறுப்பினராக இருந்த சமயத்தில், அவருடைய பிறந்த நாளைப் பற்றி தற்செயலாக ஒரு பேச்சு எழுந்தது. ஜூன் மாதம் ஒன்பதாம் நாள் தான் என்னுடைய பிறந்த நாள் வருகிறது, அறுபதாகிறது என்று குறிப்பிட, அங்கே, அந்த நாளில் ஜமாய்த்து விடுவோம்என்று சொல்லியிருந்தேன் . மின்தமிழில் நான் பங்குபெற்ற நாட்கள் முடிந்துபோயின என்பதால், அங்கே வாழ்த்துச் சொல்லும் நண்பர்களோடு சேர்ந்து கொள்ள முடியவில்லை.

அதனால், இந்தப் பக்கங்களில் தனியாக ஒரு பதிவு, பிறந்தநாள் வாழ்த்துக்களைச் சொல்லும் பதிவு!

மின்செய்திகளை விட, எனக்குப் புரிந்தது இதுவே என்ற இழையிலும், அதற்கு முந்தைய பல இழைகளிலும், திரு.சுகுமாரனுடைய ஆன்மீகப் புரிதலும், பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளும் விதமும் என்னை வெகுவாகவே கவர்ந்தன. கவியோகி சுத்தானந்த பாரதியார் புதுவை ஸ்ரீ அரவிந்த ஆசிரமத்தில் இருந்த 23 ஆண்டுகளைப் பற்றித் தகவல்களைத் தெரிந்து கொள்ள விரும்பியபோது, கவியோகியை நேரடியாகப் பார்த்துப் பழகிய ஆசிரமவாசி ஒருவரை எனக்குத் தெரியும், வாருங்கள், அவரைச் சந்தித்து அவரிடமிருக்கும் அறிய புகைப்படங்களையும், தகவல்களையும் பெறுவோம் என முன்வந்தவர். இதைப் பற்றிய தகவல்கள் இந்தவலைப் பதிவிலும், மின்தமிழ் கூகிள் வலைக் குழுமத்திலும் காணக் கிடைக்கின்றன.

Mother :It is your birthday tomorrow?

Sadhak: Yes, Mother.

How old will you be?

Sadhak: Twenty-six, Mother.

I shall see you tomorrow and give you something special.

You will see, I am not speaking of anything material- that, I shall give you a card and all that -but of something... You will see, tomorrow, now go home and prepare yourself quietly so that you may be ready to receive it.

Sadhak: Yes, Mother.

Mother: You know, my child, what "Bonne Fete" signifies, that is, the birthday we wish here?

Sadhak: Like that, I know what it means, Mother, but not the special significance You want to tell me.

Mother: Yes, it is truly a special day in one's life. It is one of those days in the year when the Supreme descends into us -or when we are face to face with the Eternal -one of those days when our soul comes in contact with the Eternal and, if we remain a little conscious, we can feel His Presence within us. If we make a little effort on this day, we accomplish the work of many lives as in a lightning flash. That is why I give so much importance to the birthday -because what one gains in one day is truly something incomparable. And it is for this that I also work to open the consciousness a little towards what is above so that one may come before the Eternal. My child, it is a very very special day, for it is the day of decision, the day one can unite with the Supreme Consciousness. For the Lord lifts us on this day to the highest region possible so that our soul which is a portion of that Eternal Flame, may be united and identified with its Origin.

This day is truly an opportunity in life. One is so open and so receptive that one can assimilate all that is given. I can do many things, that is why it is important.

It is one of those days when the Lord Himself opens the doors wide for us. It is as though He were inviting us to rekindle more powerfully the flame of aspiration. It is one of those days which He gives us. We too, by our personal effort, could attain to this, but it would be long, hard and not so easy. And this -this is a real chance in life -the day of the Grace.

Q: I would like to know the true meaning of birthdays.


Mother: From the viewpoint of the inner nature, the individual is more receptive on his birthday from year to year, and thus it is an opportune moment to help him to make some new progress each year .

Q: How should one spend... one's birthday?

Mother:...in finding out the purpose of life.

Q: Today is my birthday. I want this day to be the beginning of a more spiritual life and therefore something has to be done. Please tell me what I must do.

Mother: It is not with the mind that one should decide what has to be done. It should be a spontaneous movement taking place in a sincere and constant aspiration.

Q: If that is the meaning of one's birthday, apart from its commemorative character? How can one take advantage of this occasion?

Mother: Because of the rhythm of the universal forces, a person is supposed to have a special receptivity on his birthday each year.

He can therefore take advantage of this receptivity by making good resolutions and fresh progress on the path of his integral development.
